Clear answers about how we count nodes, billing schedules, and AI keys.
We count active worker nodes in all connected Kubernetes clusters during the billing period. We DO NOT charge for master nodes (control plane nodes) or virtual Kubelets. For example, if you run a cluster with 3 master nodes and 25 worker nodes, you are only billed for 25 nodes (with 10 of those being free, resulting in 15 billed nodes).
Every active Kuboptix account gets an automatic, permanent allowance of 10 free worker nodes. If your cluster scale is 8 nodes, your monthly bill is $0. If your scale is 12 nodes, you only pay for the 2 nodes above the free tier (resulting in $30/month on monthly billing).
Yes. By default on the Pro Cloud tier, we route diagnostics securely through our hosted AI models (using anonymized logs to guarantee confidentiality). If you select the Enterprise tier, you can configure 'Bring Your Own Key' (BYOK) to run diagnostics through your private enterprise agreement with OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google Vertex AI, or even target local models (e.g., self-hosted Llama 3) for complete security containment.
No. Unlike other APM tools (e.g., Datadog, SigNoz) that charge variable rates based on gigabytes of logs or millions of custom metrics ingested, Kuboptix focuses on operational automation. We do not charge data ingestion premiums, allowing you to stream as many logs and event data pipelines as your clusters need without experiencing unexpected bill spikes.
Yes. Our Enterprise tier offers a full self-hosted control plane package. You can deploy the complete Kuboptix dashboard, Go API gateway, and metadata database directly inside your own private air-gapped data centers, AWS VPCs, or Google Cloud infrastructure using our Helm charts.
Security is our primary concern. Kuboptix does not store raw Kubeconfig files on our database. In Cloud deployments, we utilize scoped Kubernetes Service Accounts with Least Privilege RBAC configurations. All log diagnostics are parsed in memory, and any sensitive data (e.g., tokens, environment variables, database passwords) is automatically redacted at the cluster edge before reaching our diagnostic engines.
